Long speaks at inaugural summit

Sandy Long, Senior Advisor for Defense Exports in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Defense Export and Cooperation, spoke at the inaugural Military Wheeled Vehicles Systems Summit in Alexandria, Va., Wednesday.
 

The summit brought together members of the U.S. military and industry to discuss current initiatives and challenges toward utilizing emerging technologies to help modernize our Military’s combat and tactical vehicles, and vehicle systems. Long’s comments focused on DASA (DE&C)’s role in collaborating with partners and industry, ensuring the right equipment is developed or acquired in order to meet our shared security goals.

Long also took some time to discuss other DASA (DE&C) efforts which include the Security Cooperation Workforce development and certification, working with the Army G-3/5/7 to be more strategic and proactive in our efforts, and increasing engagements with foreign partners to the degree possible given the worldwide pandemic.
