For over 25 years, through SPP, the National Guard has conducted military-to-military engagements in support of defense security goals, and leverages whole-of-society relationships and capabilities to facilitate broader interagency and corollary engagements; spanning military, government, and economic and social spheres. Kentucky maintains state partnerships with Djibouti and Ecuador.

U.S. Army Reserve Civil Affairs, Djiboutian veterinarians partner to treat local livestock

Deployed U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Soldiers from the 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion (CA BN), in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), participated in a veterinary exchange in the rural village of Ali Oune, Djibouti, August 30, 2020. In partnership with the Djiboutian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, the 443rd CA BA was able to assist the veterinarian for Damerjog, Djibouti, in providing livestock care for the people of the remote Djiboutian desert village, which is roughly 15 miles from Camp Lemonnier.

Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa supports Djibouti’s fight against COVID-19
