As leaders worldwide declare “war” against COVID-19, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Europe is providing support to the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. European Command.

DLA Distribution Europe's Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point supports transshipments to 49 locations along 26 dedicated truck routes for U.S. European Command and its subordinate service component commands. Transshipments are quickly processed and placed in lanes for onward movement.

At the request of U.S. Army Europe and Installation Management Command Europe, the TCSP is currently preparing 19,200 bottles of hand sanitizer and 19,200 American Red Cross comfort kits for shipment to soldiers, civilian and family members assigned to U.S. Army Europe.

According to John Gallagher, a supervisory traffic management specialist assigned to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command's Theater Movements Center, “The ability to bring in sustainment stocks and transship cargo throughout Europe is greatly enabled by a robust theater distribution network for EUCOM and partners in the Joint Logistics Enterprise, such as the American Red Cross, DLA Distribution, the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Air Mobility Command and Army Material Command. Within the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, we have a number of transportation solutions to be able to expedite cargo quickly from CONUS as we did for these pallets of comfort kits and hand sanitizer.”
