U.S. Army Reserve Civil Affairs, Djiboutian veterinarians partner to treat local livestock

Deployed U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Soldiers from the 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion (CA BN), in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), participated in a veterinary exchange in the rural village of Ali Oune, Djibouti, August 30, 2020. In partnership with the Djiboutian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, the 443rd CA BA was able to assist the veterinarian for Damerjog, Djibouti, in providing livestock care for the people of the remote Djiboutian desert village, which is roughly 15 miles from Camp Lemonnier.

DLA Distribution and Defense Security Cooperation Agency align mission and efficiencies to save costs

In response to the defense wide review conducted Dec. 17, 2019, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution assumed oversight of three Defense Security Cooperation Agency Humanitarian Assistance Program Excess Property sites. The alignment, a current and on-going effort, will not involve the movement or exchange of material, but, with DLA Distribution assuming oversight, is projected to save taxpayers upward of 18% of the current storage and distribution costs.

Texas National Guard and Egyptian Military begin Long-Term Military Partnership

On August 24, the U.S. State of Texas and the Arab Republic of Egypt took the first step in forming a long-term partnership under the U.S. National Guard’s State Partnership Program. US Army engineers break ground, enhance Polish infrastructure

A ground breaking ceremony for Resolute Castle 20 was held at Karliki, Poland, Aug. 13, 2020. It officially recognized the efforts of Task Force Resolute Castle, which is slated to complete seven construction projects to improve existing host nation infrastructure. The scheduled projects includes the construction of an intermediate staging base, forward arming and refueling point maintenance, the clearing of a helicopter landing zone, and the improvement of a railhead byway and range road at Camp Trezbien, Poland. Additionally the improvements will include the construction of a general purpose warehouse in Karliki, Poland, and the construction of a fuel system supply point at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland.
